History:
One of the last "Second-Generation Designation" vessels, the D-80 was an attempt to build a new battlecruiser class in a movement to update the Klingon fleet, however it was soon to face problems.
The technology of all the nations were accelerating through a period of advancement, and this advancement was soon beginning to make the D-80 stand out. Combining some of the "Old Style" design aesthetics with a new command pod (which would later be revised and used for the new KDF-1 "Vor'cha" Project), the D-80 quickly began to become first an uninteresting, regular addition to the Klingon fleet, and soon it became even worse than that, as more and more Federation, Romulan, and Orion designs began to mount new, vastly superior models of weapon like the FH-15, or "Type IX", as it would later be redesignated, and the OD-6 and 7, the D-80 soon not only was outgunned constantly, but it's mostly moderate-damaging but now accuracy disruptors soon became uncomfortably inadequate even by the standards of thirty or forty years ago.
63 pere built from 2330-2333, with the vessels being given to several, mostly smaller houses for their personal arsenals, an action which was really an excuse for the newly renamed Klingon Defense Force, to quickly get rid of their suddenly inadequate new support cruisers in a still kind of productive way in 2359, with the vessels no longer in existance by 2369.

History:
The L-8 Heavy Frigate was designed for major fleet actions, transporting marines and
firing disruptors and drones on enemy vessels. They were equipped with the long-range
KD-13s and the high-speed KWF-1s, making them good for proximity assaults. Notable
battles include the Battle of Organia, and the battle of Vas Calab'ras in 2264.
In the mid-to-late 2270s, the L-8 recieved an upgrade, adding some of the new
KP-3 Photon Torpedoes, and KD-11 Disruptors, as well as upgrading to more powerful
warp engines and the ZD-6 computer, allowing the vessels to perform admirably until
their retirement in 2326.

History:
The K-18s were a mass-produced class of Light Escort, intended to serve in fleets
and convoys, as well as perform minor patrol missions. They were equipped with
maneuverable warp and impulse engines, and fitted with two wide-arc disruptors
and drone racks. As the years went by, the K-18s were refitted with better systems
and given hull reinforcement to make them more survivable in combat, although more
powerful ships such as the K-27 and K-34 were easily superior to the K-18s in
function, leading to the class's retirement in 2309.

History:
The D-64 Class was an expansion of the earlier D-12 and D-13 classes, establishing
design features that would appear on numerous later designs of the 24th Century.
The vessels were equipped with long-range disruptors, strong torpedoes, and high
speed warp engines, enabling the craft to perform numerous surprise strikes,
and unlike most other bird of prey classes, it has some small troop-carrying capabilities.

History:

The D-66 Class is another attempt to build a combination of the Bird of Prey and more
mainstream Klingon designs, such as the D-7 and D-10 Classes, using two very powerful
heavy disruptor cannons, as well as four lighter disruptor cannons and fore and aft
KP-4 Photon Torpedo Launchers. The vessel has a drone rack and troop-carrying capabilities,
and the D-66s have been used constantly from the 2330s to the Dominion War, with plans
to retire the class in the late 2390s.

History:
Built to maintain a large supply of guard ships on subjugated alien
worlds, the K-37 Diamond Knife looks somewhat like a Tholian ship,
which some of it's crews have loathed. The Monitors are fitted with
eight disruptors, four with very wide arcs, and all can fire forward.
300 were launched from 2282 to 2284.

Klingon L-30 "Dream Warrior" Class Battleship

History:
Built as simply a firepower platform and nothing more, the three L-30
class vessels were only used that way, not in the usual Battleship role
of Fleet Flagship. Lacking any disruptors, they bore a strange, and
problematical distinction, having to rely on power-sucking plasma, or
photon torpedoes that had ammo-limits. They were also extremely
expensive, quickly axing continued production of the class, instead
continuing to build L-24 and L-32 class battleships.

and other new Klingon designs, equipped with short-range, high-power disruptors
and forward and aft KP-5 torpedo launchers. Although a fairly normal destroyer class
that was retired in the 2350s after 70 years of service, the D-41s were often liked by
their crews, and were sometimes even fitted with unofficial systems ripped off of
captured pirate vessels.

is a newer Light Escort Class used to defend many of the Klingon colony worlds, as well
as being occasionally used in fleet battles. It is in many ways an improvement over nearly
all the smaller Bird-of-Prey classes, and even carries a small shuttle capacity.

stations, outposts and colonies against threat vessels, a necessity considering
the recent increase in conflict between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, and while
the vessels weren't terribly useful in combat, they were reliable enough and cheap enough
to maintain that they were continuously used until the 2250s, when they were replaced by
the K-30 "Luckless" Monitor.

History:
The D-39 was a newer combat vessel designed to handle missions in minor areas in
and out of the empire, and much of it's appearance is considerably different
from the bulk of the empire's normal combat designs, with a weapon scheme that
revolves around short-range, but damaging disruptors and a large photon torpedo
armament, a decision made by more moderate Klingons who were pushing for more
reliance on Photon Torpedoes since the introduction of the weapons into the
mainstream Klingon fleet in the early 2270s.
The vessels were used for a very long time, being subject to minor upgrades,
but nothing serious, and were continually used by the KDF, and by small house
arsenals until their eventual retirement in the 2360s.

being delayed by several years until the KP-5 launchers could be developed and fitted
to the vessels. In combat, the vessels did well, and remained in service until the
last one was retired in the 2330s.

History:
The D-15 Class, Which received it's name from the southern Klingonaase for "Armored Warrior",
was an early attempt to create a vessel which could take on and destroy a Constitution
Class, an attempt which didn't quite work, but since the vessels were extremely durable,
and carried good KD-8 Disruptor firepower, the D-15s were continually used for a number
of mostly combat oriented missions, and after a few upgrades, and after decades of service,
they were retired in the 2350s.

History:
The L-37 was a newer Battleship, given an intricate, heavy-detailed armor-plated
hull that would have an effect on many future designs of the 24th Century,
equipped with a heavy armament of disruptors, including not just one, but TWO
heavy disruptor cannons, and an even heavier armament of photon and plasma torpedoes,
enabling the vessels to deliver a huge amount of firepower on various targets,
which, along with massive troop-carrying capabilities, a huge engine supply,
including an abnormal number of impulse engine reactors, and good shields
made the L-34 a highly capable flagship, and even after the Khitomer Accords
were assigned, two more vessels with somewhat upgraded technology came online,
and the remaining vessels were upgraded, continually used until their retirement
in the 2360s, as the KDF-1s and KDF-6s were built in greater numbers.

History:
The first ship class launched by the Klingon Empire, the D-1 was a primitive, early
vessel, equipped with a single forward laser cannon, and supplies for a few hundred,
these early vessels went on a large number of short-range voyages, constantly
being resupplied at supply depots every few lys, and barely effective against
the scattered, early pirates in tiny, fast, barely armed raiders, a problem
which plagued the early D-1s, although after almost thirty years, the first
disruptors were mounted on the D-1s, replacing the lasers, making the
vessels somewhat more effective, although still not very well armed,
and when the D-2s and F-2s came online in 2162, the D-1s were quickly retired.

History:
A new gunboat intended to be mass-produced and to serve as a potent patrol ship,
the K-21 was the most heavily relied on, and mass-produced gunboat in the 23rd
century, being used both as station/system patrol ships as well as occasional
fleet escort ships, some of which were even used by Admiral Zantai-Kaneida
in many of his gunboat tactics. A refit added a third, high-power Disruptor
to the ship, improving firepower, and the gunboats were continously used
for over 90 years, finally being retired in the 2360s.

History: In 2270, the Klingons launched a new Dreadnought Class to serve as a command ship,

in part, owned by various major houses, with one ship to a house, after more and more among

the high council balked at having mostly older, inadequate vessels for their personal arsenals,

such as the older D-4 and D-5 battlecruisers, eventually encouraging around three relatively

new projects to be devoted to that goal, among them, the L-14.

The Dreadnoughts were equipped with, in addition to the regular pair of KWE-3 warp nacelles,

was also equipped with an embedded KWD-1 nacelle in the Boom section, and unlike nearly all

other ships of the era with separable sections, the L-14's boom could later reconnect with the

(still active) stardrive section. The L-14s were among the first ships to benefit from the

new photon torpedo technology, with two forward and one aft, along with a wide-arced array

of disruptors.

The class was supplemented, and eventually replaced by the far superior L-15 Class by the 2290s.

The prototype was named in honor of the house that was responsible for the creation of the first fusions.

History: the L-22 was a compact, maneuverable, combat-capable monster, with some decent troop-carrying capabilities, and supplies, either for the troops, or for the other ships in their fleet, with a "B" Refit, that improved on some areas, but never made their service anything more than slightly obscure, and marginally notable, with the last ones stripped and sold, or placed in museums in 2312-2314.

The KDF-3 was an upcoming project, intented to make an improved heavy battlecruiser with improved technology, making use of the technology designed for vessels such as the KDF-1 "Vor'cha" class, the KDF-3 was to use these systems and be a potent combat vessel.

In their near-century of service, from August 2338, to around December 2432, these Heavy Battlecruisers have performed stellarly, taking on enemy vessels and delivering troops at high levels of efficiency, constantly leading fleets, and occasionally serving as fleet flagships during the Dominion War.

History-
The L-34 Class was another battleship, developed and constructed by the engineers at Mastocal, intended to provide the Klingon squadrons and fleets with command ships and weapons platforms, and while the weapons loadout wasn't terribly special, they gave the L-34 enough firepower to duel it out with other battleships, but mostly Heavy Cruisers and Heavy Frigates, and the battleships were fairly adequate, as one of a plethora of several diverse choices: the L-24, the L-29, the L-35, and others, they were replaced by the KDF-1, the KDF-3, and the KDL-7 in the early 2340s'.

Today, two of them are in museums, three are in surplus depots, and the final one is used by the IKS, with minor modifications, used as the IKS second fleet flagship, one of the best ships used by that minor nation's navy.

A Picture of the K-12 monitor from the Klingon Ship Recognition Manual reference, to go with the stats.
...The L-37 Class Battleship, done up.

History-
The D-70, while lacking some in weaponry in the mid'-24th century, was an upgraded, improved Heavy Battlecruiser, replacing the C-7 Class from the 2280s', and the vessels served as main combat vessels and squadron and fleet leader, using improved tech, developed shortly before, and in the recovery decades after the explosion of Praxis, and after the KDF-1 and KDF-3 were launched, the D-70s were reduced in prominence, and were used along all the thousands of older and newer Klingon ships, performing well in the Dominion War, their name constantly referring to legends of long beams of fire, streaking through space, or firebirds.

The T-14 was designed to use dozens of marine-based Lada in order to more efficienctly deliver troops and supplies to a target, and speed, effortlessly into a target spot, from zone to zone (both Temperature and time), and was often a cheaper alternative, more cheap than the T-12, and more fightable than a T-5.

History: -

The D-46 was a newer light cruiser design, using a more compact hullform, and using a small-to-medium number of good weapons, and it performed heavily in squadrons and fleets, and occasionally by itself, with some decent troop-carrying capability, and medium level speed, very much able to make it keep up with the other Ships in their squadron or fleet.

...As the D-46s were lagging behind, and as newer Light Cruisers and Light Escorts were created to fill the lighter combat roles in the fleet, the D-46s were slowly phased out, finally being retired in early-'2334.

...I recently got some Klingon E-5 and E-7 miniatures, which will make the basis for many new ship designs, and here, are two of them.

The K-39 was a new Heavy Escort designed using medium numbers of better weapons, including some newer Photon Torpedoes developed for the L-27 and L-24 Class Battleships, as well as a strong Impulse engine, to help balance the older warp engines. Although not a prominent vessel, and often one that someone would have to root around for in order to find info on, the K-39 was still highly successful in fleet battles, and performed well as a regular warship, until it's replacement by the KDK-5 in 2337.

I attached the ventral sled with the nacelles on top, and to the forward by a few centimeters.

History:-

The D-77 was a Klingon attempt to produce a more advanced, more powerful, on a smaller hull Heavy Cruiser, using "Long Lance-type" torpedoes, and some slightly more advanced shields, coupled with more powerful engines, making it a truly advanced cruiser, and it's "Dual-Spread" launchers can pump out torpedoes more efficiently, making it one of the most heavily used cruisers until the launch of the Vor'cha Class seven years later, when it was used in more auxiliary roles.

They sometimes escorted larger ships, and were even carried aboard the T-15 Class Carriers, providing additional firepower for heavy assault. A Squadron of four once assisted 1 D-20 and two D-35s against a trio of Kzinti Heavy Battlecruisers.

They were heavily reused and refitted, serving until well into the 2370s, when they were finally withdrawn, replaced by the KDK-10 and KDK-12 Classes.

History: -

The E-12 Was the culmination of the many Klingon E-series Destroyers, becoming a prime fleet combat vessel in the 2260s', and being refit, and continually used for numerous combat and surveillance tasks, and occasionally contributing to troop deployment. The last one was retired in early February', 2314, but numerous sleek, maneuverable destroyer classes later took up it's role.

...The E-12 was the last Destroyer or Escort to have one of the First-Generation Hull Designations, later Destroyers being included more and more in the standard "D" series Designations, alongside the Light, Heavy, and Heavy Battlecruisers.

History-
The K-13 is one of that Empire's greatest early designs, a Scout intended to expand, occasionally perform in light combat roles, using stronger, 3-KgV, 12-Ly Sensors, and a larger crew compliment, no marines, and laboratories and expanded crew lounges, a vessel that served wonderfully as a foraging, enteracting and observing craft of varying success and they, with their other scouts and light escorts, were a backbone of the earlier Klingon fleet, through the Four Years' War, the rebuilding of the Klingon Fleet, the Battle of Organia, the surveying of Fornan and Korexa, Morin D'kel observation, and scouting and signalling for the battles and lurk-and-raids of Starbases 11-16, finally being retired in the early 2300s', being obsolete, even for the last 20 years, but deftly lurking fighters and honoured starfarers and/or seekers.

History-
The L-15 was a newer Dreadnought to follow in the footsteps of the lengthened cruiser with an embedded third nacelle, the L-14, both serving as the primary Dreadnoughts of the Klingon Imperial Navy, the L-15 using it's primary weapon - a vast array of Disruptors, to rip apart the enemy. The vessels used more transporters and shuttles to help deliver many thousands of troops to a planet's surface in a fleet conflict and invasion.

Sleek, and expanded from the L-17 Heavy Frigate, developed at almost the same time, the L-15 also had a powerful computer and vast cargo holds, and while some were destroyed in various conflicts fairly soon, others were in service into the 24th Century.

The L-17 was a more compact, troop deploying Heavy Frigate, using stronger shields, and two of the stronger Photon Torpedo Tubes, using it's longer-range Disruptors to wear down an opponent from a distance, and to help support smaller Light Frigates and Light Escorts in their role. Constructed at Murdecai and FonawI' from 2273 to 2275, they were quickly discontinued in favour of the larger L-19 and the L-46 Class Light Frigate, competant combatants, but not particularly noteworthy, other than slightly stronger than normal torpedo loadout and compact hull, the L-17s themselves retired in the 2340s.

History-
The E-1 was the first Klingon Destroyer, used for decades, and more heavily mass-produced, on the level of the Gunboats, with Landing and heavy Drone Capability, causing them to be reliable by both the Klingon Imperial Navy and House Fleets, from the 2210s, to the Class's retirement in the 2250s, the last being retired in 2252.

The E-1, although one of the most heavily relied-on Destroyers of The Empire, was too primitive to succeed against the Federation, and although looked back on fondly, it was decided to leave this vessel to the classes and war museums.
