History: The Blackwell-Class was developed at Gnarrbaxis to fight the Borg, and to prepare for possible Dominion Hostilities, with two ships completed. It was to be the first in a new hull classification; - the Super Frigate, which would be a monster of a frigate, and use many torpedo launchers, and Type XI Phasers, newly miniaturized for use in starships. Production did not continue, although the two that were completed did well against Jem'Hadar Battlecruisers and Supercarriers.
