History: The Kangaroo-Class was built as a slightly more advanced 2Xe ship to conduct Exploration, and sometimes other roles, often farther out on the frontier. Many made use of newer, better shielded nacelles, slightly updated versions of ones used on the Sacajawea-Class of 2274, and they had greatly improved rec areas and banquet halls at the back of the saucer, and in the neck.
Noteworthy Vessels/Service Records/Encounters: U.S.S Kangaroo; - Prototype, Decommissioned and sent to Surplus Depot Zed 15 (2364), U.S.S Wallaby; - tested minor warp and computer upgrades that would be applied to the U.S.S Kangaroo (2328), U.S.S Cane Toad; - Destroyed confronting Ferengi Footpad-Class Frigate (2362), U.S.S Velocity Captor; - Destroyed in the Tomed Incident (2311)
