History-

The Korpisalo-Class was an ambitious heavy assault ship, designed using new Hassan systems meant to update the fleet and keep up to date with developments of the other Alpha/Beta Quadrant nations, although the Hassans hadn't encountered over half of them yet, much less engage in hostilities. It is a ridiculously huge, almost DN/BB sized ship, devoting more to landing and marine operations than to all previous Hassan Ships, even other Frigates, and the week after the launch of the first three ships, Korpisalo, Mekkaveto, and Tuosinen, each one led a whole battlegroup to attack the frontier Gorn Worlds of S'olda, Grecuman, and Kolridi, worlds the Hassans claimed, but the Gorn took in the late 2230s. They successfully ravaged the Gorn settlements and moved in, securing and recolonizing those worlds in 2274. The Korpisalos; - although ambitious, were highly successful in advancing on the Gorn, and enlarging Hassan influence. The Class was named for the Minister of Power and Economics in the 2250s, and half the class remained in serivice,despite being aged, in the mid 24th Century.
